Today was a super cool experience for second-graders... Tape Art!
A huge thank you to Shelly Yang and Roxi Horton with our Performing Arts and Authors Committee (PAAC) for coordinating this program for all second graders.
Tape artists Michael Townsend (founder) and his partner, Leah Smith, guided second-graders as they created large-scale ocean-themed murals. They are amazing! Students were also able to engage in an interactive presentation where they asked questions of the artists for a full hour. We had to pry them away! It was a wonderful opportunity to be inspired as artists... and also an illustrative experience to see how practice and perseverance can accomplish great things.
